ITHACA Project Plenary in Patras

Last week, the ITHACA Project partners from across Europe came together in Patras, Greece, for a pivotal Plenary Meeting. As the project coordinator, Konnektable Technologies had the honor of leading this important event, fostering collaboration and steering progress toward our collective goal: developing an inclusive, transparent, and participatory digital platform that empowers local communities.

Why this Meeting mattered

Transforming innovative ideas into real-world impact requires more than technology—it demands collaboration, alignment, and commitment. This two-day hybrid meeting provided a crucial bridge between the development of the ITHACA online platform and the upcoming pilot testing phase in Martin (Slovakia) and Brașov (Romania).

During the sessions, partners:

🔹 Finalised the development and UX design of the ITHACA platform

🔹 Prepared for the rollout of pilot testing, which will engage citizens in real-world settings

🔹 Advanced the development of policy tools and recommendations to support ethical, rights-based frameworks for AI

🔹 Strengthened coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement strategies

What’s next

The pilot testing phase is the next key milestone. This phase will allow us to validate the platform with real users, ensuring it meets the needs of citizens and local authorities alike. Our aim is to foster trust, transparency, and participatory governance by leveraging AI in a way that respects citizens’ rights and supports inclusive decision-making.

A big Thank you

We extend our sincere thanks to the University of Patras for their warm hospitality and to all project partners for their dedication and collaborative spirit. Together, we’re building an innovative digital solution that bridges the gap between research, design, and practical implementation—bringing ethical, participatory AI closer to communities across Europe.
