KT at the Eco-Escaper Kick-Off Meeting in Valencia

On 3 March 2026, the Kick-Off Meeting of the Eco-Escaper Project took place in Valencia, Spain, hosted by the Valencian International University (VIU).

The Eco-Escaper Project is a new EU-funded R&D initiative under the Erasmus+ Programme (KA220 – Cooperation Partnerships in School Education) and will run for 36 months.

Eco-Escaper brings together a consortium of seven organisations from across Europe, including higher education institutions, technology companies, schools and training organisations from Spain, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Turkey and Latvia. The consortium is coordinated by Valencian International University (VIU), which leads the overall project implementation.

The project is aligned with key European priorities, particularly the fight against climate change and the strengthening of the teaching profession. At its core, Eco-Escaper recognises the crucial role of teachers in shaping future generations and aims to equip them with the knowledge, skills and digital resources needed to effectively engage students with climate-related topics.

A central concept of the project is the use of digital escape rooms as an innovative and immersive learning environment to enhance climate literacy in secondary education. Escape rooms are collaborative, problem-solving activities where participants work together to solve challenges and complete tasks within a time limit. In an educational context, this gamified approach encourages critical thinking, teamwork and active engagement, making complex topics such as climate change more accessible and motivating for students.

During the meeting, partners had the opportunity to discuss the project’s strategic direction and lay the groundwork for its successful implementation. The main sessions focused on:

🔹 Project overview and strategic foundation, including the definition of partner responsibilities for survey implementation

🔹Gamification design and technical framework, setting the basis for the project’s educational and digital approach

🔹 Dissemination and communication plan, including key messages and a systemic approach to project communication

Konnektable Technologies Ltd. was represented by our colleague Stavros Delavinias, who actively contributed to the meeting discussions regarding the technical implementation of the project’s digital tools and platforms.

The Kick-Off Meeting marked an important first step for the Eco-Escaper consortium, creating a shared understanding of the project’s goals and ensuring strong collaboration from the very beginning.

Through this joint effort, Eco-Escaper aims to contribute to more engaging and effective climate education, supporting teachers and empowering students to better understand and respond to today’s environmental challenges.
