The Use Of Digital Escape Rooms As An Immersive Learning Environment For Advancing Climate Literacy Education In Secondary Schools
This project directly contributes to the objectives of the EU’s 2030 climate and energy framework and the European Green Deal by strengthening the capacity of educators to address climate change. Recognizing the pivotal role of teachers in shaping future generations, the initiative equips them with the knowledge, methodologies, and resources needed to engage students effectively in climate-related topics.
A key innovation of the project is the introduction of climate-themed educational escape rooms. These immersive, scenario-based learning environments foster collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving—competencies essential for understanding and tackling climate challenges. By integrating this methodology into teacher training and classroom practice, the project offers a dynamic and impactful approach to advancing climate literacy and promoting sustainability education across Europe.
