ERMA

European Research Management Advancement

ERMA is creating a Virtual Hub as a platform connecting aspiring and experienced Research Management (RM) professionals with employers across the European Research Area (ERA), spanning both academic and non-academic environments. The Hub will support knowledge exchange and provide access to training, mentoring, mobility, and career development opportunities.-

Objectives:

  • Build and sustain a European network of RM practitioners and employers through a central online platform
  • Strengthen the skills and career development of research managers through online support services for career planning, skills development, and access to opportunities across the ERA
  • Raise awareness among decision-makers in EU Widening countries of the value of RM for Europe’s research and innovation system
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to promote good institutional practices and strengthen the recognition and professionalisation of RM across Europe

Outcomes:

  • Assess EU progress in developing RM programmes and guidelines
  • Establish a common framework for recognising and comparing RM qualifications and occupations across Europe
  • Deliver a fully operational one-stop-shop platform, including a catalogue of training resources, career services, and a job board
  • Develop a sustainable business plan to support the long-term future of the initiative
