European Research Management Advancement

ERMA is creating a Virtual Hub as a platform connecting aspiring and experienced Research Management (RM) professionals with employers across the European Research Area (ERA), spanning both academic and non-academic environments. The Hub will support knowledge exchange and provide access to training, mentoring, mobility, and career development opportunities.-

Objectives:

Build and sustain a European network of RM practitioners and employers through a central online platform
Strengthen the skills and career development of research managers through online support services for career planning, skills development, and access to opportunities across the ERA
Raise awareness among decision-makers in EU Widening countries of the value of RM for Europe’s research and innovation system
Provide guidance and recommendations to promote good institutional practices and strengthen the recognition and professionalisation of RM across Europe

Outcomes:

Assess EU progress in developing RM programmes and guidelines
Establish a common framework for recognising and comparing RM qualifications and occupations across Europe
Deliver a fully operational one-stop-shop platform, including a catalogue of training resources, career services, and a job board
Develop a sustainable business plan to support the long-term future of the initiative
