COnCEPT is a collaborative platform that enhances creativity, facilitates interaction interactions in distributed and multidisciplinary teams and increases the efficiency and quality of the outputs at the early stages of the industrial design process (conceptual design).

  • Conceptual design commences with high-level descriptions of requirements and proceeds with a high-level description of a solution.
  • The early or conceptual stage of the design process is dominated by the generation of ideas, which are subsequently evaluated against general requirements’ criteria.

Sketching Tool

The sketching tool provides the ability to designers to highlight, scribble or draw to get a point across to team members, introduce new elements or finalize the product design and share it with all the involved stakeholders. Collaborative sketching may be realised in a synchronous or asynchronous way through the use of common canvas, concern the design of part or the entire product, support advanced tracking mechanisms regarding the activities of each user as well as a set of export functionalities of the final product to re-usable image formats. A design space is available per user.

Moodboard/Storyboard Tool

Create moodboards and storyboards in a Pinterest-like layout providing the ability to share, categorise, keywords, extract colour palettes, identify similar shapes / forms.

Brief Analysis Tool

Provides access to common editing workspaces along with the appropriate logging of the end users activities. Text analysis and mining is supported in the produced texts based on the application of a set of algorithms (e.g. NLP techniques). Based on the analysis, information regarding identified concepts in the text is provided along with suggestions for relevant resources in the web.

Mind-mapping Tool

Brainstorming and mindmapping functionalities are supported via the corresponding tool that is integrated in the COnCEPT platform. The mindmapping tool provides the capacity for creation of maps that contain a root in the center with main branches radiating from it.

Information exchange (links, images, chat)

Visual representation of information, gathered all in one page regardless of information format (pdf, text, image, link, video etc.)
